Anglia delivers one of the largest UK Microsoft
Navision deployments for Inchcape Automotive
Debtor days reduced by 30% and return on
investment expected within 3 years
Anglia Business Solutions announces it has completed one
of the UK’s largest Microsoft Navision deployments at Inchcape Automotive
(IA), a subsidiary of Inchcape Plc, the International Automotive Services
Group.
The 240 user solution consists of the powerful Microsoft Navision Financial,
CRM, Human Resources and Payroll modules. Anglia also developed specific
functionality for yard & storage tasks, pre-delivery management, workshop
and parts inventory management. Underpinning the whole system a unique
user-configurable workflow engine, also developed by Anglia, delivers the
business logic.
The system captures all of the details associated with each vehicle; make,
model derivative, colour, trim, fuel types, VIN number, registration, date,
mileage, customer specific number and agreement reference. It also tracks
every process carried out on every vehicle, as well as the vehicle location,
facilitating reliable management information and ensuring accurate
invoicing.
Mobile access to the solution is delivered via hand-held devices running
Windows CE.NET. The complete solution is deployed on Windows 2000 clustered
HP servers using Citrix technology to deliver a secure enterprise wide thin
client solution. The server infrastructure is hosted at a remote Internet
Service Provider site with user access via a Virtual Private Network.
Peter Wilson, Group IS Director for Inchcape Plc; “We needed a flexible
solution capable of handling any contract conditions dictated by our
automotive customers, which includes major motor manufacturers, car rental
and leasing companies. The workflow engine developed by Anglia meets this
requirement superbly. Our Microsoft Navision solution will give us clear
visibility of customer profitability, contract profitability and individual
site profitability; information that was extremely difficult to get with our
legacy systems. With that information, that visibility, the management of IA
will be ale to deliver a high quality of service and business going
forward.â€
IA employs around 1,000 people on 12 sites throughout the UK and provides
specialised services in the preparation of new vehicles and the
refurbishment, storage and transportation of ex-fleet vehicles that are
re-entering the market. It's main manufacturing partners are Toyota, Lexus,
BMW, the Premier Automotive group of Ford, Volkswagen and Mercedes-Benz.
A full written case study and accompanying video case study are available
