Anglia
to Partner Corus International in a £1.5m Global Microsoft Dynamics™ NAV
Project
Global system roll out will provide flexibility with control at a
time of rapid expansion
Anglia Business Solutions has announced that
it has successfully concluded negotiations on a worldwide Microsoft
Dynamics™ NAV project with Corus International. The company, now part of the
giant Tata Group, is a global supply chain service business focused on
steel. It specialises in the provision of product and service packages to
customers, major contractors, engineers and end users throughout the world.
The £1.5m contract will deliver a ‘hub and
spoke’ solution based on a centrally controlled rollout of regional
instances of Dynamics NAV. These will be based on a common Corus
International template, shared business process logic and master data that
incorporate best practice throughout the business. The deployment will
consist of seamlessly integrated applications that include finance, sales,
back-to-back trading, Corus mill sales, inventory, manufacturing, logistics,
documentation and customer relationship management.
Each Dynamics NAV instance will be localised
to allow the system to meet local legal, language, and financial reporting
requirements. The Dynamics NAV solution will provide for full data exchange
with the existing Corus Group SAP systems.
Graham Royle, Project Manager for Corus,
said, “As a business, Corus International has extremely ambitious growth
plans. An internal review concluded that a number of our legacy business
systems are now reaching end-of-life and no longer fully support the future
requirements of the businesses. They have therefore become a barrier to
achieving our strategic goals”.
“We needed a modern world class flexible
business management system that allowed us to leverage enterprise wide
dynamic information for competitive advantage. We also wanted to work with a
partner with large systems deployment expertise, international reach and a
comprehensive knowledge of complex trading applications. Our in-depth due
diligence selection process identified the award winning Microsoft Dynamics
NAV platform provided by Anglia Business Solutions as the ideal blend of
leading edge technology and relevant skills”.
Phase I will include implementation in all
Corus International business units in the UK, North America and the Middle
East. There will then be a series of further rollouts to Corus
International’s other regions, including Europe, Australasia and Asia.
Commenting on the contract David Hurley,
Anglia’s Managing Director said,” We are very pleased that Corus
International has chosen Anglia as its preferred partner for this important
project. Once deployed, the solution will provide an excellent example of
how modern technology can provide the organisation with the necessary
agility to compete in today’s global economy using shared dynamic enterprise
wide information”.
