Anglia’s Development Director
Receives “IT Developer of the Year” Accolade
Anglia Business Solutions announces that it’s
Development Director, Richard Jones, has been awarded a top industry
accolade of IT Developer of the Year at the British Computer Society (BCS)
IT Professional Awards. The awards ceremony was held on 7th December at
London’s Grosvenor House Hotel.

Richard won the award for his groundbreaking work in developing Anglia’s
suite of Microsoft .NET tools for deploying business mobility applications.
Commenting on the award, Jones said, “In recent years, I have worked with
Windows Mobile using the .Net Compact Framework and SQL Compact building
tools to streamline the process of building Line Of Business Applications.
My team and I have worked on ways to efficiently deploy reliable partially
connected applications and came up with a tool called 'DataMaker'. DataMaker
automates the production of the data layer, you simply point the tool at a
SQL table and it does the rest, churning out reliable Compact Framework
code.”
“Anglia’s .NET based business applications have been a key factor in many of
the national awards for customer solutions won by Anglia in recent years”
said Managing Director David Hurley. “The degree of innovation shown by
Richard in their design and development has been impressive. The systems
deployed have generated many hundreds of thousands of pounds worth of
business value for our customers. This prestigious national award is a
fitting tribute to his skills and dedication”.
The BCS IT Professional Awards are recognised the leading hallmark of
success amongst practitioners in the IT industry today. For the IT Developer
category, the judges were looking for evidence of developments that have
been successfully implemented, have met the specified requirements and have
impacted upon the organization’s performance with significant business benefit.
